Join Eat Local SA

Are you hungry for visitors? If you serve or sell South Australian food, you can join Eat Local SA. Eat Local SA promotes venues who make the effort to source and sell South Australian food and beverage products and hero these products and suppliers on their menus and shelves. Participation in Eat Local SA is open to restaurants, pubs, cafes, cellar doors, caterers, specialty gourmet retailers, and South Australian food-focused tourism and accommodation businesses. Eat Local SA can help attract visitors hungry for new culinary tourism experiences, and eager to seek out the stories behind our state’s great food, right to your door.

Who

If your venue is a restaurant, cafe, pub, cellar door, retailer, caterer, farm gate, accommodation or food tourism experience then we welcome you to participate in the Eat Local SA program.

What do you need to do?

There’s no fee to participate in Eat Local SA – we just ask that you ensure any consumer visiting your business can easily (and always) see that you make a consistent effort to support local producers. For example, you could make sure you include at least one main or two smaller dishes naming South Australian sourced ingredients or origin on your menu at all times, or one dish on your specials board. Or you could display a supplier’s list highlighting your local suppliers with your menu, on a wall or on your website (even better, all three!)

Once you’ve got that down, all you need to do is contact us to let us know what you are serving, and keep us posted on your events, new dishes, specials, recipes and any other news we can share to raise your profile with our Eat Local supporters. We will also be in touch with you regularly to find out what’s new with you, and we can also share and repost your social media content to our feeds.

Plus we will send you a free all-weather sign or sticker (while stocks last) and we will send you the Eat Local SA logo to use on your website and promotions so you can make the most of the program’s established brand.

Why

Participating in Eat Local SA will help identify your venue to local consumers and tourists who are hungry to support and taste South Australia’s amazing food. We are talking regularly to over 22,000 consumers who opted in to hear about businesses like yours through our ENews, and we have thousands of hungry fans on our social media platforms too.
